2026 NAP Expo Preview: From adaptation planning to implementation

The 2026 NAP Expo will take place from 18 to 21 May 2026 at the Kigali Marriott Hotel, bringing together governments, practitioners, development partners, financial institutions and technical experts working to advance climate adaptation worldwide.

This year’s Expo introduces a more implementation-oriented and interactive approach than previous editions. The programme is designed to support countries in translating adaptation priorities into practical action, investment opportunities and implementation pathways.

Across four days, participants will engage in collaborative sessions focused on:

  • Developing project concepts and adaptation portfolios
  • Strengthening implementation readiness
  • Matching national priorities with financing opportunities
  • Enhancing collaboration across institutions and partners
  • Leveraging innovation, AI and remote sensing tools for adaptation planning

The programme also includes clinics, peer exchanges and facilitated working sessions that encourage hands-on engagement and practical problem-solving.

By creating more opportunities for collaboration and co-development, the 2026 NAP Expo aims to support countries in accelerating adaptation implementation and strengthening resilience in the face of growing climate risks.
